The King - 30cm x 40cm Colour Pencil on Pastelmat

“The King” was created to encapsulate the lion's most commonly referred to title "Kings of the Jungle". The reason they have been labelled “The King” is due to their raw power and strength. They can lift ten times the load of an average human being and their bite force is almost five times stronger compared to humans. Lions fear no other animals and have no real threats in the wild.
Despite their title, they don't actually live in the jungle. They only live in plains and open grasslands.
